On June 20, 1973, snipers fire upon left-wing Peronists in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in what is known as the Ezeiza massacre. At least 13 are killed and more than 300 are injured. The year's #1 song was "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" by Tony Orlando and Dawn. Bokeem Woodbine, Akon, Charlotta Sörenstam would arrive in the same year.
