DJ Kool Herc demonstrates a new technique of beat juggling and Coke La Rock performs a new style of vocal performance called rapping. The year's #1 song was "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" by Tony Orlando and Dawn. Bokeem Woodbine, Akon, Charlotta Sörenstam would arrive in the same year.
